Self Guided
Section 7B
I often use the analogy for re-training your thoughts, as your mind being a vast area of extremely overgrown grass and prickly weeds.
Before you started this program, you were managing with the one pathway you had. This was the pathway to –
Suffering
Pain
Guilt
Shame
Loneliness
Constraint
Sadness
Anger
Frustration
Fear
Jealousy
Envy
Comparison
Judgement
Indecision
Meanness
Insecurity
Resentment
And all the other feelings you don’t enjoy.
You have now made a new path. A path of –
Joy
Happiness
Love
Romance
Freedom
Hope
Abundance
Security
Growth
Creativity
Fun
Certainty
Expansion
Forgiveness
Success
Trust
Clarity
Peace
Understanding
And all the feelings you do enjoy.
Sometimes you will find yourself on your old path. Observe this without judgement…and….
One day, you will look back and your old path will have grown over… will no longer exist.
Please be gentle and patient with ‘team you’.
You were never wantonly self-sabotaging. You always, and have always, done your best with what you’ve had available to you at that time.
As you journey through this understanding…you will find you have more and more available to you…and you will do better and better and better.
Whilst your new mind-path is still fresh, and before your old mind-path has disappeared, forgive yourself for still experiencing occasional difficulties…because you’re human….and that’s fine.
When faced with just such a situation, a situation you’re struggling with accepting as a brand new moment to meet with love, you may find yourself anticipating, expecting the kind of poor quality outcomes you’ve encountered in the past.
Yet…this is a brand new, perfect and beautiful moment. This isn’t a moment or even many moments you’ve experienced before.
This new moment has never existed before and will never exist again.
It is a blank canvas…and you have a pallet full of the most exquisite colours to use…and an array of brushes…so start creating.
Play with the possibilities, dance with the hopes and dreams, embrace the potential and fall in love with the opportunities.
This is the gateway to your future…
Meet it with grace.
Observe yourself judging situations…tarring them with the brushes of similar occurrences in the past…
Stop. Think. Breathe.
Accept this newness as a chance for you to grow further…and enjoy more.
When you perceive things to be going well in your life…however you judge that..
You feel like you could scale any mountain, conquer any world.
When your life is not going according to plan…whatever that plan is…
You feel unsure, frightened, trapped and persecuted.
You feel like life’s punchbag.
Fortunately, this phenomena is easily diagnosed and cured.
You have simply handed the key to your okayness, over to someone or something other than you.
It’s easy to be okay when what’s around you is okay. Anyone can be okay when it’s okay.
The aim is to be okay when it’s not okay.
It is time, is it not, to take possession of that key? To own your own life.
Not every day will be okay…but to stand your ground…to take ownership of and responsibility for your own okayness is where you’ll find the sweet-spot…the magic.
As you become more and more aware of the quality of your thinking…you’ll observe when it is pure and untainted by past experience, judgement and fear…because you will be flowing with, rather than against, the universe.
Everything seems okay.
When you notice that your thinking is of less pure quality…you will feel quite the opposite…you will feel like you are struggling up hill…
Relax and see that is merely a meandering in the direction of your old mind-path…
Smile kindly at yourself, take the inner, vulnerable you by the hand and watch as miraculously…
You are okay.
You are enough.
You are whole.
You are complete.
You have no doubt heard of manifesting and the power of attraction.
I admit, that even after my life changed to one of light, love and joy, I was still resistant to the concept of everything being available to me, if I simply wanted it enough.
As my understanding deepens further, I see that this is not only possible but that it is how it works if we don’t get in its way!
Like gravity.
Gravity draws objects to earth’s centre…if we don’t impede its journey.
We are so certain that –
We have to work hard to reach greatness.
We have to deserve success.
The idea of abundance is too good to be true.
This, though, isn’t how it works…it just appears to be so, because –
We are conditioned not to punch above our weight, get above our station.
Dreaming and hopes don’t produce anything other than wasted time…which could have been better spent putting the work in.
Rather than ask who you are to expect the very best, wonder why would you not?
Whatever you think is attracted to you.
If you think ‘fat’ you will not be slim
If you think ‘poor’ you cannot be rich.
If you want to be happy, but want it from a place of sadness about your current sadness and frustration…you are coming from a place of lack…from a place of being disappointed.
If you think you have an unsatisfactory life, what kind of a life do you think you’re attracting? The less you talk or think about things you don’t want in your life, the better your life will be.
This is not to say you have to shut yourself away from unhappy events or shield yourself from real life.
To do so, would be naive and unhelpful.
Rather, accept that things we would not choose, will happen…all you need do is turn on the news or pick up a paper to see this. When they do, send love, and when appropriate, practical help. Allow situations to improve by not attaching fear to them, and gently disallow them to adversely affect your life.
Let me put that into context for you and give an example:-
When you hear that someone has been hurt in a car accident, send healing, send flowers, send love…but do not allow yourself to attract a similar accident into your own life by immersing yourself in anxious thoughts of how you would feel if that fate befell you.
Accepting that accidents do happen, actually and metaphorically will not attract them to you….believing they may happen to you…expecting them to happen to you, will.
You are what you consistently think.
Thank goodness you now know you have a choice over which thoughts you entertain.
Pause often to check in with yourself…to assess how okay you are.
Without judgement, if you find yourself at odds with your world, remind yourself that you can be okay.
Notice how quickly your equilibrium returns in a variety of different moods.
Maybe the jury’s still out with you on the power of attraction and manifesting, I wasn’t at all sure about it until recently either.
Since I decided to surrender to it…because…well, why not…my life has seen many amazing changes…and now I’m a convert!
So, I challenge you to discover just how amazing your life can get. (Hint : there’s no limit.)
